Happy Holiday Season Everyone, we’re cookin’ with gas!

The Sun will be blazing His trail through Sagittarius as Mercury gets out of His Retrograde Shadow & we’re finally done with His tricks for now. Good timing! We’ll get a sharpening of the survival tactics needed to get us through the Months crazy shopping/organising/socialising requirements. Mercury has been simmering away in Scorpio since October, now He gets some speed up & shifts into Sadge on the 11th of December. Things will start to appear much warmer & “Christmasy”. A Firey Mercury fits the Season well because He’s more outgoing, warm, energetic & fun loving.

Venus too, as of late last Month, has shifted & entered Capricorn. Though many believe She’s too buttoned up & staid in this Sign, I like Her here for the start of the Holiday Season. Venus represents what we value (along with Her typical role of Love Goddess), so She shines Her rays upon value & helps us make choices which are truly meaningful to us & others. She has manners & decorum in Capricorn & she makes wise decisions. Venus won’t be spending too long here however, She moves into Aquarius on the 21st & after all her solid Cappy planning of festivities, She attains an Airy, more detached & quirky aura for the rest of the Year. If you’ve shopped & scheduled earlier in the Month, your Christmas will probably be a more Traditional one. If you’ve flown closer to the Sun with it all, things are likely to be a little more unconventional & unusual. Also, with this Sign shift, we’ll be able to detach & do our own thing in the last week or so before New Years. Her Masculine Planetary counterpart, Mars, remains in Scorpio & He’ll be totally appreciative of some detached quiet time where He can get it. He’s kinda “off duty” at the mo, having caused some fire works with His Opposition to Uranus last Month. Rest & recuperation will likely be His mission for the time being.

These three Planets aside, Jupiter will be the center of attention in Astro circles because He’s decamping into Capricorn, after spending a year hanging out in His own Sign of Sagittarius. We feel immediate shifts in Energy when the faster moving Planets, such as Mercury, Venus & Mars swap around, but when a Planet has spent a whole 12 Months flavouring our lives in one way or another, it’s a bigger deal. All Fire Signs (Aries, Leo & Sadge) should have benefited greatly from his last years sojourn, as the conversations He’s had with their Suns have been harmonious. Air Signs (Aquarius, Gemini & Libra) haven’t done too badly with this either. Water Signs have been a mixed bag… it’s a fairly straight forward equation when we know how Fire & Water mix (or don’t!) & now, as of the 4th, Earth Signs (Taurus, Virgo & Capricorn) become the Jupitarian “It Kids”. Jupiter expands! He creates new horizons, philosophies, aspirations & goals. When He works with Earth Signs, He gets grounded enough to anchor things into reality.

Uranus (our change agent) is playing NICE throughout December with all the Capricorn Planets. His current mode is less harsh than it has been, Sigh Of Relief! He’s also making Aspects to Jupiter, but they aren’t of the sudden Molotov kind. He posed great challenges for all of us earlier this Year, now the shifts are more of hopeful liberation. Also, Sleepy Neptune, who’s been snoring since June, came to life again at the end of November. As He’s a very slow moving Planet, He *really* takes His time to wake up. Any Pisces Person can attest to this… it can take a full couple of hours each day & MUCH caffeine to open their eyes! With Neptune awake, we’ll start to express what we’ve been dreaming of out loud & He too is harmonising very well with the Capricorn cavalcade. As He gets going, in the second week of the Month, Venus & Mars are having a Neptunian themed chitty-chat, which usually indicates Feminine & Masculine energies are likely to be at Peace. This is an opportunity to realign & smooth over any rough patches in romantic relationships. It’s a chance to find harmonious partnership too, for anyone looking. Cool!

As for Saturn & Pluto & their ongoing waltz, yes! They’re getting closer together & as they have we can see a fair few people out there fear mongering re all this. What I’d like to say though is that there’s a theory in Astrology which states the hardest of hard Aspects shows up AS Planets are applying (approaching each other) & I really believe it to be so. This is akin to the hard yakka of reaching a summit. It takes two Months of enormous energy, effort, bravery & faith to top Everest! I’d say we could draw parallels between this & the past couple of Years of our lives. I’m simplifying due lack of time & space, but I’m sure you get the idea. It’s been HARD WORK & we’re about to peak. Once we do, we can survey all we are, Past/Present/Future style, & from a great height. Thus, we can plan where we want to go from here. The loftier Energies of Pluto, Saturn & Jupiter are ALL wisdom based & man! We’ve learned a LOT & our knowledge was hard won. Soon, we get to make it worth something & as we dive headlong into a brand new Decade, I reckon it’s a good thing we’re doing it with a Jupiterian influence. The decent toward base camp still calls for discipline & care, but it’s a far easier task when you’re seasoned. Remember where altitude sickness caught you, recall where the ground is treacherous &… rejoice in a lighter backpack!

The Full Moon is on December 12th, at 16:12 @19 Degrees of Gemini & the energy looks like it’s dualistic, how apt! The Moon in Gemini is an emotionally talkative one & wants to communicate. The Sun is in Sadge & is all for that, as long as the conversation is philosophically inclined & uncontained. All well & good, but at the same time, Love Goddess Venus is hanging out with Saturn & Pluto in Capricorn & She’s busy trying to work out her worth in the frey. As a Full Moon tends to hyper illuminate things, watch out for feelings of insecurity & a lack of affection (Saturn) or ones of obsession, even revenge (Pluto) rearing their heads. The dialogue you may be best served having is with yourself & it’s about your value & what a worthy plan of action IS, in light of Venus achey bits. As Mars is conversing with Neptune, both in Water Signs, there’s a flow here & it’s a LIBERATING one indeed, if you can work with it. Mars is how we get what we want! OUT with old thought patterns & those of repetitive limiting behaviours though. It’s never recommended to act on impulse at Full Moon time, but take note of your feelings & what comes up for you seriously. Be an observer & reason things through. You can innovate your perspective (see above re Jupiter & Uranus). What would make you truly happy, supported & satisfied? Resist focusing on what’s not working or what’s missing. Focus instead on what it would take to improve things & get them flowing the RIGHT way now. Gemini is a born problem solver & processes information at lightning speed. Tap into that, detach as all good Air Signs can & keep your mind busy with constructive ideas.

The New Moon falls the day after Christmas day, December 26th, at 16:12 @4 Degrees of Capricorn & it’s a Solar Eclipse! Eclipses serve as Celestial check points & come in pairs (the next is tapping into Cancerian Energy, in January). New beginnings in your Capricorn House are on their way & we get a push… an extra burst of power to kick things off. Unexpected opportunities can pop up & the best way to handle them is to go toward what INSPIRES you & commit (Capricorn), long term (Capricorn!) to them. Sometimes, saying “NO” can actually get us on the right track. Clearing the way can get us onto a new & more prosperous track. You might get a chance to recreate or reinvent an old concept in a new way. Often we can have what we want, just not under the same circumstances & conditions. You can start a new job, just not at the company you thought you’d be at. You can have a relationship, just not with the person you thought you’d end up with. You can go on that holiday, but perhaps now, your destination changes… you get the idea! Watch for those doors flying open & think seriously (Capricorn) about walking through them. The Eclipse Chart is a really nice one! Mars (how we take action) is in harmony with Saturn (structure), Pluto (transformation) & Uranus (change). Jupiter (expansion) is also contributing in a good way. Venus (love & money), after her trials & tribulations on the above Full Moon, is now in the mood to do things differently. She’s in Aquarius & well ahead of all the other Planets! She can pick & choose her hearts desire, but it’s flavour is likely to be an out of the box quest for an out of the ordinary journey. Love & appreciate what makes you different & don’t settle for average.

My vote for a great Crystal to have around in December is Citrine.
