Hey-ho, Lets Go!

Hopefully, we’ve all arrived in 2018 safely. It seems Christmas was an emotionally challenging time, in one way or another. Looking at January, we really are setting off with a mission though, right from the get go. None of this sitting around & warming up to it, for this first Month is one of the best of all 12! We may have started out feeling a bit heavy, but we get a good dose of confidence & motivation as we progress. There’s an Earthy feel, but also a lot of Cardinal (initiating) Energy abounding. Sparks! Think Focus, not Frolic & look toward the future. We’re SO done with looking backward y’all. I’d recommend holding off on your New Years Resolutions until after the New Moon though & this is because…

First, we’ll have all Planets moving Direct (unusual!) as we progress through January. Which means we score an excellent a tail wind… Full Steam Ahead, Folks. Next? Well, it’s Capricorn Season & getting more Capricorn-ey as we go! A Season like no other in recent times, as Saturn (Planetary Ruler of Capricorn) is also in Sign, making this period tres potent. Saturn is the “Head Master” Planet. He’s the guy at the top who tasks us to be mature & to take responsibility. He’s watching to see if you’re being accountable, doing your study, building your future, being respectable, being trust worthy, being solid, being a grown up! When Saturn is around, you’d best get serious & walk your talk. He’s not hot pink & extravagant, he’s the tailored suit… staid pinstripe. BUT, he helps us get to where we’re going. If you’re all kinda groaning, cheer up! This is LIFE for most Capricorn people. Now you know why they’re mostly measured, cautious & low key people. Be sure to offer the Cappies you know some ongoing compassion & kindness. This Energy is inherent to them & hey… it’s anything but cartwheeling in the park.

Having pointed this out, & in view of us all being honorary Caps, now I’ll tell you a Saturn secret. The key to success IS hard work! Think of all the times throughout 2017 you’ve thought “I’d do anything to fix this!”, well now’s your chance. Things may not have landed the way you wanted & yes! it’s been hard, but at least you are clear on what has remained. It’s time to reconstruct. January will help you get cracking. Another trick with Saturn is if you find yourself feeling blue, work can actually remedy your melancholy. This doesn’t necessarily mean getting lost in your day job, you can work at anything! Your creative projects, for example. Regardless of how & where you choose to apply yourself, if you’re ready to roll up your sleeves & start to build your future, your opportunity has finally arrived. If you want something that’s going to stand the test of time, something that will weather storms & offer a more than sturdy foundation? Saturn’s your guy! Your sand castles may have washed away. Your tree house might have blow down, but now the storm is over, you know what’s left. Capricorn Season, if nothing else, will help you pour the concrete slab of your Souls future residence.

Pluto (deep transformation) & Saturn are in Capricorn for years. But the Sun & Venus are also in house in January & feeling a little sombre perhaps. Who are we really? What do we value? What do we really love? What can we do to strengthen ourselves & get more of what we want? What do we want to LAST? Mercury (our thoughts & communication) is finally Direct & will join the Capricorn crew in the second week of January. Serious thoughts, plans & talks about what the Sun & Venus crave will serve you well. Mars (our actions & drive) is still lagging a little, back in Scorpio. But he’s jumping into Sagittarius toward the end of the month & surveying the new horizon. What do you want to DO with all the facts January is affording you? Which direction do you want your year to take? One by one, in mid to late month, the Sun, Venus & Mercury will make aspects to Uranus (change & innovation), in Aries (individuality & assertion!). Here is your launching pad… your starting gun for 2018. You have the power to make this the beginning of not only a constructive year, but the Debut of the New You for many, many years to come!

On January the 2nd, we have the first Full Moon of the Year, at 13:42, @11″ degrees of Cancer. Cancer being a Water Sign, is all about how we feel. It’s emotions that take centre stage. The Moon is in Cancer & the Sun Opposes it from Capricorn. Our hearts may be on our sleeves, but we’ll have to contend with our structure & boundaries. It’s the quintessential how we Feel Vs Reality Aspect. So, we may feel restricted right now & that can cause a little tension. Any hurts which bubbled up on Christmas day could be heading toward… well, a head! You may want to stay in bed, clinging to your tissue box, but it’s likely you’ll have to get up & soldier on, albeit a little teary & overwhelmed (Note: research Bach’s Rescue Remedy if you haven’t already got some, it’ll help you!). As Cancer is the Sign of Motherhood, there may be a focus on kids right now (be they of the Human or Furry kind). Alternatively, we could have our childhood issues pinged. Look at the psychology from your adult perspective, you’ll get new insights. Try to let things go. The best way to use this energy is to NUTURE. Do some nesting! Air out the house. Change the sheets, cook your favourite food, have a bath, even better, go for a swim! Talk to those you love, start a vision board, do things that ground you & make you feel positive, safe & secure. Find your balance & resist emotions which make you feel needy or those which can tip you over, from care into smothering.

The New Moon for the month is in, you guessed it… Capricorn! @26″ degrees, on January the 17th at 13:17. As mentioned above, chocks away chaps & lets GO. The Energy effects us all, but look at the House in your Chart which is Ruled by Capricorn, because here is where you should specifically be directing all your might. By now, we have SIX Planets in the Sign. 6!!! Oh I could talk all day about what great boost this is to start your 2018 build. It’s like having all your ducks in a row with your hammer & nails to get them up on your wall. We have the oomph to do it too, Mars & Jupiter will offer us the challenge & impetus, Uranus gives us that Devil may care attitude to go ahead, no matter the nay sayers & their “Don’t put holes in that wall! You can’t put those ducks there! I don’t like them! They’re not straight!” say. Really? Too bad, coz this is what *I* want. I want to DO this, I want to LOVE this, I want to SAY this. I want a better life & I want a better future &… I’m going to start bringing it in, as of NOW! Of course we need to be kind, tactful & considerate… alllll that jazz, but if you don’t start now, WHEN WILL YOU?

Shungite! (pictured above) Not only great for Capricorn Season, but sensational for the Energy of the next two years or so, too. Polish up or recharge the pieces you have & keep them front & centre. Shungite, in general, is protective. It shields us from modern hazards; the static & disharmony created from the electro/techno Jungle we live in. It absorbs negativity & so helps us trudge through weighty matters with a lighter step. It aids in dispelling fear & depression.
