Welcome to June & Happy Birthday Gemini!
Though our skies may be grey & our mornings frosty, at least here in Victoria, this is a shiny time of year as far as our social lives & curious minds go. Gemini is the Sign of the twins, but it’s also representative of our “teenage selves”. We become inquisitive & forever seeking alternatives this month. We’re on a steep learning curve where possibilities are endless & we’re more open to expressing ourselves, sometimes becoming rebellious. Gemini has a thirst for the new & exciting & wants to explore options, ask questions & put together this gigantic puzzle we call life! Networking, juggling, info seeking & being open to different points of view is starred in June.
Along with the Sun, Mercury, Planet of information & communication & indeed Ruler of Gemini, will also be in the Sign until mid Month. This is a great time for socialising, even if we may feel like cuddling up in front of the heater & not budging. If that’s the case, you can always catch up with friends on-line, or somewhere where there’s an open fire & plenty of mulled wine… or herbal tea, depending on your preferences! The 5th, in particular, is an ab fab get together/party date. Mercury in Gemini is chatty & akin to being on an information highway, so whatever you ARE doing, supply your busy mind with some new project to get fired up about. It’s a good time for study, workshops & brainstorming, for updating your technology, for streamlining your Calendar & setting up any of the meetings you may have been putting off. Good too for promotions, ad campaigns or advertising your business in any way. Try & get things like this set up in the first couple of weeks of June though, as Mercury will shift into Cancer later on & *that’s* the time for nesting, staying in & nourishing your Soul.
Beautiful Venus is ahead of Mercury, so she’s gliding through Cancer already. Cancerian Energy is Watery & emotional, it’s all about the feels! Find a way to combine your lively mind with what warms your heart. Spending quality time working on projects with your kids & family will help you feel shored up & secure whilst having some fun! Buying bed linen, soft furnishings & flowers will brighten your days, as will cooking up hearty pots of soup or baking cakes. Earth & Water Signs always relish Venus in Cancer, whilst Fire & Air Signs may feel a little too bound up & stifled. Their time will come a little later with Venus moving into Leo, where She becomes more dramatic in expression, more expansive & extroverted. Where we start the month with somewhat of a home & hearth Goddess nature, when Venus shifts, we’ll feel more like dressing up & going out to expensive restaurants! We suddenly prefer flashier manicures to the shell pink we did a couple of weeks ago.
Mars, our Planet of action & how we go about getting things, will be going Retrograde toward the end of June. At the start of the month, He’s in Aquarius, so He’ll be backing into Capricorn again, not returning to Aquarius until September! The transformations & plans we’ve been moving forward with since around mid April will be up for some refinement. Sometimes we can feel frustrated during Mars retrograde periods because when we act on something, we want it to move forward PRONTO! So if you find you’re being set back a little, or held up, express yourself with some form of daily physical exercise. In fact, it’s a wonderful time to reinvest in anything you’ve wanted to do, fitness wise. Mars is a Fiery Energy, not meant to be bottled up. If you find your temper flaring & your usual patience being singed, work it off. Use this time to course correct & reassess your future plans in general, so they’re genuinely nutted out & aligned with you. Mars Retrogrades only once every two years, so it’s a useful period for double checking you’re going the right way.
Saturn (Structure), Jupiter (Expansion) & Pluto (Transformation) are Retrograde now, with Neptune (Spirituality & Creativity) to follow suit on the 19th. Many believe these periods are ones in which our focus becomes internal & we process our lives from the inside out. Thus, whilst the above discussed, faster moving Planets are “doing their thing”, we’re silently contemplating the big changes we’ve all probably seen come through in the first half of the Year. The Outer, slower moving Planets, at least, are in line with Nature & the way Energy has drawn within. We can apply all the Retrograde “Re words” of recuperating, restoring, realigning, revitalising & generally conserving our resources until Spring. Ultimately, we’re catching up with ourselves. Often we’re a bit run down & tired after the first six months of a Year, so make sure you’re taking extra good care of your health right now.
Uranus has moved in Taurus, as became apparent with volcanic eruptions & various other earth disturbances. It’s possible we’ll experience a few earthquakes around the Planet too, until He settles in. Uranus is the Planet of electricity, revolution & out of the blue change, Taurus is an Earth Sign. When these two influences come together, you can see how geophysical events tend to occur! What we see playing out in Nature is often expressive of how we feel inside & there are quite a few early born Taureans & Scorpios who can attest to building pressures. Uranus is known to spring surprises & sudden metamorphosis on us, often both at once, we’re going to need to stay on our toes & learn to roll with the punches somewhat, ongoing.
The New Moon of June is in Gemini at 05:43, on the 14th, @22 Degrees. As with all Gemini Moons, this sets us off on somewhat of a fact gathering mission. New ideas, fresh ideas & alternative ways of looking at things. What you do come up with however, may need to remain in its conceptual stage for a little while & that’s because Neptune, Planet of illusion & general fog, is Aspecting this Moon. You’ll need to wait for the dust to settle in order to fully sort fact from fiction. Though e’ll feel inquisitive, there’ll be a lot of verbal static flying around! Ask questions, but don’t assume you’ve got a good grasp just yet. Venus will be talking to Uranus around New Moon time too, we might get some nice surprises! All up, the Energy isn’t looking boring, that’s for sure. If you’re setting intentions, make them intellectual ones, aimed at stretching your mind & keeping you mentally supple.
The Full Moon this Month is in Capricorn at 14:52, on the 28th, @6 Degrees. This one is a very powerful one, it’s Conjunct Saturn! For those who believe Saturn is the Planet of Karma, it’s a culmination point for much of what we’ve been working on emotionally since the New Moon in Capricorn, on January 17th. If you’ve really been grappling with yourself to understand & evolve some inner issue, this Full Moon should finally release you! On the other hand, you just might get a reminder of a challenge you’ve chosen to ignore, or “forget”. Either way, it’s a fairly sombre day for all of us, with a push pull between the practical & the feeling. Whatever comes up, remember after Full Moons the Energy dissipates, so if you’re feeling overwhelmed, the Moon will shift into Aquarius on the afternoon of the 30th, offering up some cool Air Sign mojo, for detachment & perspective.
