Happy Birthday to all our beautiful, dependable, creative, sensual & natural born chef’s of extraordinary feasts: Taureans! You’re SO unsung, yet Taurean energy is what all of us need more of, in this World. Reliable, strong, resilient. Serene, sensible & steady. But along with being so earthy & grounded, you have both charm & grace & a sensational, wry & dry sense of humour! Taureans manage to stay under the radar & support almost everyone in such a low key manner, that they’re often, sadly, taken for granted. In a way, any I know don’t really mind… they’d far rather be behind the scenes than doing some great song & dance, though many are extremely talented at both. Venus Rules this Sign… VENUS… so Taureans always create a warm, rich, & serene environment around themselves & we get to enjoy their flow, whenever we’re in their space. Lets hope all of us can manifest some of their kind of goodness during May!
As we start the month, Mercury, Planet of communication, is in Aries. As I write, He’s just past a hard Aspect to Saturn. Often, this can mean we’ve had a road block placed squarely on our path & any conversations of importance we’re engaged in may have hit a bit of a wall. Getting serious about what you’re trying to achieve, but being prepared for a certain level of inflexibility from the “other side”, is knowledge which will actually aid you to get through diplomatically. Fortunately, this is a period of only a few days. Drill down & work out what’s most pressing… be flexible enough yourself to choose the most sensible (Saturn) way for you to proceed, for the moment. The conversation is likely to come up again shortly. Contemplate what’s already been discussed so you’re prepared for the next “dose”. This time Mercury will be Squaring Pluto (transformation), the Mars (action), asking that we make a final call & make a decision. Try to keep prioritised, focused & measured… Uranus will become involved & fire works are likely. If not yours, then your oppositions! You’ll come out ahead if YOU are the cool, calm & collected one, the one with a clear & rational mission. On the 14th, Mercury goes into Taurus & shortly after, things will start to calm down *phew*
Venus (all things we value & love) has been moving through the Sign of Gemini for a couple of weeks now & she’ll have been able to help us find harmonious ways to navigate the above Mercury shenanigans, if we seek her energy! Venus here is curious & inquisitive. She picks the shiny thing up off the shelf, turning it this way & that, so she can delight in all its angles! She’s a great problem solver because she easily shifts & changes her perspective, letting go of flaws & zooming in on advantages. Venus in Gemini is THE chameleon & Social butterfly. People with this placement are the one’s who rock a different look every day. They’re great at taking a bit of this & a bit of that to make up an inspiring & highly individual whole. If you’ve been looking to put together the “New You” for Autumn & Winter, start flicking through your options & talking to people in the know about what you want to achieve. She’ll be in this energy until the 20th, when she goes into Cancer & it’ll ALL be about nesting & nurturing.
Mars has been travelling through Capricorn & has been making some tough Aspects; generally causing us a bit of a tooth ache. Hopefully this will peak tonight, once the Full Moon in Scorpio starts to wane. As Mars speaks of the actions we take, he’s been running somewhat of a steeplechase these past weeks. Now, he’s freed up! & on the 18th of May, he moves in Aquarius. This should offer us some well needed detachment & the ability to find ways of going forward which we may not have even noticed before… always handy! Just before he leaves Cap though, he has a conversation with Chiron. This is usually a couple of days where we feel that anything we do is the wrong thing, pinging our insecurities & ouches, yet again. Hang in for the couple of days surrounding the 18th, it’ll help to recognise that we’re human after all & to accept the things about ourselves we can’t change. The ache WILL ease, take it one day at a time & be kind to yourself & those you care about.
Jupiter is still in Scorpios anchialine, but as the Planets move forward, he’ll likely cease expanding our challenges & from around the 18th, we have a LOVELY Trine building (nice Aspect!) with Neptune. The next couple of weeks will be great for get togethers, brainstorming creative ideas & dreaming BIG. Of course healing, Spirituality & love will all be alight as well when these two Planets chat. Speaking of Neptune alone, He’s sailing away in watery Pisces & will be otherwise quiet, during May. Saturn & Pluto are now retrograde in Capricorn, which to me always signifies an easing up of the extra heavy emotional lifting we all do when they’re direct! They’ll be going backwards for a fair few months now, so enjoy the respite.
I’ve saved talk about the Planet Uranus til last because he’s making a shift on May 16th & will be in the Sign of Taurus for about the next Decade! When the far away Planets bust a move like this one, it’s a big deal. Though the shift may be subtle, we usually feel a jolt at the start. If we think of the things Taurus Rules & we apply Uranian goggles to them, we can expect Revelations & Revolutions! It would be a great idea to check your own Chart, to see which areas of your life are about to rock & roll. Taurus is an Earth Sign, a Sign of stability & maintaining what we have. Uranus is almost opposite in energy! It’s a Planet of change & shaking up the status quo. Astrologically, Taurus Rules our material resources & our possessions. It has influence over our self esteem, our talents & our values. We’ll need to be open to personal change & be ready to innovate ourselves! On a grander, more collective scale, Taurus is about the Earth & how we take care of it. I imagine focus will again swing back toward farming practices & our use of genetically modified grain & foods. How we use artificial means to produce everything these days & how plastics & pesticides etc affect us. Taurus energy is definitely all over natural, biodynamic & organic nurturance of the Earth & sustainable outcomes. Perhaps this is only one example of how this Transit may play out, but it’s a vital one, non-the-less! Taurus also Rules the Banks… but that’s another books worth.
The New Moon of May is in Taurus at 21:47, on the 15th, @24 Degrees. It makes an excellent, supportive angle to Pluto, whilst all the above talked about argy-bargy is going on between Mercury, Mars, Uranus & Pluto. The Jupiter Neptune energy is also in play, so if you can transcend the fireworks, you can make plans & plant those New Moon Seeds with tremendous amounts of will power to transform & regenerate both your Ego & your Emotional body! Please take some time to reflect on who you want to become. Think of the qualities you admire in others, remember the times you’ve been proud of yourself & the reasons why. Aspire to always put your best self out into the World so you can inwardly find peace & happiness, ongoing. It could be said you have the ability to set the Template of You for the next Decade, on the 15th!! The way I like to mark such occasions is to buy myself a “small special something” & place it somewhere I’ll see it often. Thus it reminds me of the deal I’ve cut within to be a better person. It doesn’t have to be expensive, or even bought, really, it just has to inspire & warm my heart.
The Full Moon in Sadge is at 00:19, on the 30th of May @8 Degrees. It’s a really, really, REALLY nice Moon too!! We have a Grand Trine AND a “Mystic Rectangle” involved. If you’re not fluent in Astrology, just know this is fortunate, harmonious & easy energy, for a change! Though we’ll be up for the usual Full Moon sparks & surprises, there’s nothing vastly explosive going down at the same time. It seems every Full Moon in memory has been challenged, this one however, has something good for everyone! Fire & Air Signs might get the positive news & moves they’ve been waiting on. Water & Earth Signs are likely to feel grounded & get a taste of normality for a little while, at least. Next up we’ll be into June & half way through another year… ok, lets not think about that…
This Month I’m picking a Crystal based on Taurean & Uranian Energies. It’s a tough combo to reconcile, but I think Tourmaline can handle the job. Not only does it come in jet black form, but in pretty much every rainbow colour too. It’s as hard as Quartz & it’s found all over the World. Tourmaline becomes electrically charged by pressure or temperature & is believed to constantly change its polarity. This Stone doesn’t store energy, it transmutes it, allowing for constant release, regeneration & new equilibrium. Tourmaline continually shifts & purifies negativity, making it both healing & protective. For our purposes, it balances opposites! Yin & Yang, Right brain & Left Brain, Dark & Light, Night & Day… Uranus in Taurus!
