Happy May & Happy New Moon Everyone!
This morning at 8:45, the Moon became New in Taurus, at 14 Degrees. Taurus is an Earth Sign & as such, the Energy we’re operating under for the next couple of weeks is a lovely, grounded one. Making a plan & taking some real steps to invest in what we value & love can bring more of it into our lives! Apart from the practical side of this Earthy Energy, we have a dash of Watery Neptune Magic to light up our imaginations too. What are you day dreaming about? How could you turn those dreams into reality? Water & Earth grow & sustain life. It’s true too much of one or the other can just create a mess, but right now, the balance is perfect. Some great Saturn Aspects abound this first week of May also, meaning we’ll have the tenacity to stick to our plan if the going gets a bit rough down the road. Intentions & actions set now should have the fortitude to surmount any future challenges, hoorah! Taurus is Ruled by the Planet Venus & as many of you recognise, She’s THE Planet of beauty. So on this New Moon, think about what’s beautiful to you & what you’d like an extra huge scoop of in your life! This will be personal to all of us, after all “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder”… spend some quiet Taurean time focusing on your hearts purpose & well being. Take it from there.
I think this Month is definitely one of those which become better as we go. Currently, we’re all still clearing out the craziness of March & April & trying to land somewhere. As May begins, Mars, our Action Planet, is still in Gemini though. I’m sure we’ve all been feeling torn in too many directions, operating within rather scattered & erratic scheduling. Mars in Gemini always has several ideas/options & plans on the go, but rarely gets much nailed down by the end of the day. On the 18th, He moves into Water Sign Cancer & we’ll certainly feel more flow in our pace. Not sure anyone will have much of a problem hearing that! Where we’ve been out & about with barely any down time, we now get to sit still for a minute. Mars in Water Sign Cancer is concerned with nurturing & nesting. He’s contemplative, He likes to spend time with those He loves, in some cosy place, talking about feelings & eating hot soup. As the weather is getting colder, we naturally tend to spend more time inside, reflecting & snuggling in, so until He moves into Leo in July, enjoy!
Venus has been in Aries, fiery & passionate perhaps, but not particularly serene or sensible. She’s been lagging some way behind Mars & only now, on the 17th, does She glide into Taurus. Venus absolutely LOVES being here, as She Rules this Sign… it’s almost like a home coming. We love Venus too when She’s in her element, because she helps us align with our hearts. We start to feel more comfortable with ourselves! Again, there hasn’t been too much of that lately. We’ve been pushed & pulled, poked & prodded out of our safety zones… we’re TIRED!! Happily, May is much about slowing down, lingering to smell the scented candles, investing in ourselves & loved ones & making our environment more harmonious & beautiful.
As with Mars & Venus, Mercury, who deals with our minds & communication systems, has been residing in rapid fire Aries. He now also decamps into Taurus, on May 8th. So we find an easing here as well & will actually be able to stop & think. This is where we get to sit down & sort through the piles of mental clutter, backed up filing & the chaos that you call home. Having time to restore some order in your space again will feel gooood. Use these next two weeks well though, because Mercury is working at his peak speed. He’ll be off & running again & on the 23rd, heading into Gemini. Mercury functions beautifully here, even if Mars & Venus don’t. This is because He Rules this Sign, so he’s playing in His own backyard & we’ll be able to think & talk clearly once more. Use the lead up period to ground & realign yourself.
The Outer Planets are not really conversing with each other in May, though we still have that Pluto (transformation), Saturn (structure & Karma), South Node (releasing) mash up in Capricorn going on. By now, you’ll probably have seen what the ingrained issues from your past are & be working on them anyway. In going forward, from now until the beginning of next Year, we score an external reprieve & can process internally again. Keep plugging away at clearing those dark recesses of your Hearts & Souls with faith. You’re honestly freeing yourself from that many blockages & burdens you won’t recognise The New You at the end of all this. Sometimes it seems that nothing is budging or that you’re a hopeless case, but it’s not true, it’s not!! The only thing I can’t deny is that this is a SLOW journey & seemingly taking forever. But the outcome is worth it & your future Rock Solid self will thank you. Jupiter (our inner philosopher), Saturn & Pluto are all now Retrograde until August, September & October, respectively. Use the internalisation of their inward facing Energy wisely.
Uranus & Neptune are Direct though & partly responsible for all the external chaos we’ve been dealing with. There’ve been so many Neptune Aspects during these past weeks it’s been hard to ascertain fact from fiction. We’ve been feeling discombobulated & murky mentally & probably lethargic physically because of it. But that’s passing & with Uranus standing guard at the gates of Taurus Season, we start to get our groove back. Throughout May, we’ll get flashes of insight & inspiration to work with. Some bolts from the blue are likely & as Uranus is a futuristic Planet, His Energy will help us think outside the box to produce cutting edge ideas & solutions. He might incline us toward feeling a little edgy, nervous, overly excited & jumpy here & there through the Month, but all in all He’s helping unstick & move us along.
Our May Full Moon falls on Sunday the 18th, at 07:11 @27 Degrees of Scorpio. As we know, all Full Moons are intense… they bring light to situations we may have been a little oblivious to, but this one might prove extra full on, because Scorpio is THE Sign of intensity! Themes are likely to be around intimacy & sexuality, passion, secret keeping, power dynamics, rebirthing & at the very least, transformation. Whatever was going on for you at the New Scorpio Moon Six Months ago, may reach fruition now & over the next couple of weeks. Astrologers bang on a lot about the importance of setting intentions on a New Moon, because at Full Moon time, those same intentions reach culmination. Energy is neutral until you direct it, so by consciously harnessing the Moons power, you can then reap the rewards of things you actually wanted to happen or come to you!. I bring this up now because Scorpio is very power full, dealing much with subconscious Energy. You should be able to see, quite clearly with this Full Moon, good examples of how this all works. How far have you come with your internal, emotional selves since last November? You might be surprised to recognise how much you’ve matured & transformed since then! This Moon has some great support, so hopefully your outcomes are good ones.
