Black Tourmaline Energy Deflector, Protection, Altruism "Black Tourmaline can be used to both repel and protect against negativity. It acts to protect one from being victimized by the negative energy of another and has also been used as an energy deflector. It can provide for an increase in ones physical vitality, emotional stability, and intellectual acuity. It maintains ones spirit, even in conditions which appear to emit ‘gloom and doom’. Black Tourmaline grounds spiritual energies, clears chakras and forms a protective shield. It releases tension. It enhances the awakening of altruism. It also activates grounding between the Root Chakra and the center of the Earth, providing for further enhancement of ones well being on the physical plane." Also used as a channeling crystal, assists in the areas of amplifying both body energy and thought. It assists in the creation of power and can provide for clarity in thinking to enable thoughts to more effectively influence matter. It can be used to transform thoughts into sound, producing the vibration associated with thought and effecting the environment with the discharged energy." Mica Metaphysical Properties. No doubt in part to mica being known for its shimmering, reflective properties, this gemstone is believed to help individuals reflect on individual qualities. ... According to metaphysical beliefs, mica is also used to reduce hostile or nervous energy.
The micas are an important group of minerals. Micas are significant rock forming minerals being found in all three rock types: igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary. The term "mica" is so familiar to the general public that it is often considered a mineral in itself. Of course it is actually a group of minerals and most people who are knowledgeable about minerals know the three most common mica minerals: muscovite, biotite, and lepidolite. The Mica Group is actually a rather large group of minerals with over 30 members.
Large crystals of mica used for various applications are typically mined from granitic pegmatites. Mica grows by building up see-through paper-thin layers upon layers, which appear opaque but are in fact transparent. Mica is very metallic (containing very reactive element metals such as Potassium and Lithium, as well as Aluminium and Silica) and can be cold to touch. Mica occurs semi-translucent crystals, either flat angular blades, or rosettes or even hexagonal thin columns.
